A legendary neighborhood, cradle of tango and witness to the history of Buenos Aires. Abasto forms one of the sites chosen by tourists to live and breathe and learn tango. This district is home to the singer Carlos Gardel. The pedestrian street bears his name and he has a statue on the classic tango corner, in addition is the corner where "Morocho del Abasto" began to sing their first milongas in the former Café O 'Rondeman. The Neighborhood is known for its mega mall, The Abasto Shopping center, which is located on its main Avenue Corrientes on the subway "B" or the red line. This large building was in the last century the fruit and vegetable market, it still retains its elegant facade. In the area, there are many new buildings, an international hotel, a hypermarket, and many theme restaurants dedicated to tango.
